I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and lived here all my life. My parents were both from Polish descent and moved to America to escape communism. At an early age, I began to skateboard, and it opened up a whole new world for me. It allowed me to see the city that ordinary people don’t understand. I always knew I liked doing art, but it was until I got out of high school where I tried an oil painting class. I was terrible in school, but I was excellent in art class.
Art has helped me get through the worst times of my life and has given me a purpose, which is why I have always felt the need to give back. Volunteering at events and organizations such as Venice arts and Summer Night Lights with my art collective allowed me to give back and inspire kids to create and be exposed to art. I felt that making art for yourself is great but making art for other people to help them is a significant experience, and most creatives don’t do that.
