Restore, Reset and Relax

Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on the current moment and accepting it as it is. It’s important to take a few moments for yourself to enjoy those little moments or your environment, giving your mind a break from all the hecticness and chaos of our busy world. Practicing mindfulness has many benefits for your overall health ranging from lowering blood pressure, help you sleep, aid with anxiety and help relieve stress. Here are a few tips to help you restore, reset and relax yourself!

  1. Schedule some YOU time. Take a break, whether it’s 5 minutes or taking the day off. Go to a café and drink a cup of coffee, go on a walk, or sit and enjoy the scenery.
  2. Take a digital detox. Take a break from your electronics. Disconnect from social media, the internet, tv, computer or your phone. Use that time to pay attention to the world around you. Try to see if you are able to spot something new that you may not have noticed before.
  3. Relax and Release. Slow down and take your time. Take time to be, rather than do. Give yourself permission to experience moments of openness that you aren’t trying to shape with expectations or fill with thoughts.
  4. Keep practicing! Be purposeful about dedicating some time for mindfulness practices. The more we practice, the better we are connected to ourselves and our intentions.
